We have 2 trees (including the lightning strike victim) that are infested with the little pests. The ones attacking said trees are not Southern Pine Beetles (as I originally thought), which I imagine would be much more polite about the whole thing..."Hey, y'all. We're gonna go ahead and drill into your big beautiful trees here, 'k? Bless your hearts." No, ours are are Black Turpentine Beetles. Probably more like, say, the Russians..."Your Capitalist pig trees will be attacked until they have suffered enough for their actions. Only then will we cease-fire...except we won't really." So, we're sending in the nukes.
And you thought I was a pacifist.

I can just see the little pests shaking their fists at you.
They are definitely coming down. Actually, the casualty count is now at 3.
I hate to cut them down, but one is already turning brown and insurance doesn't cover a DEAD tree falling on your house. They DO, incidentally, cover cutting down a lightning-struck tree.
