This was our house for the week. It was named "Changes in Attitudes".
We arrived Saturday afternoon to find that my poor mother had wrenched, possibly fractured, her ankle before even entering the house. Needless to say, her vacation was altered dramatically from that point. I felt so bad for her. It didn't take long after we arrived for Sadie and two of her cousins to trek off to the beach. There was a bit of seaweed but the water was beautiful.
The second night there, Chris did a shrimp boil for us and his parents were able to drive over to join us. It was delicious.
Here is a short video I took one evening as we were exploring the beach.
This photo was taken from the sandbar in front of the house. It was only a few feet from shore and was a mere 2 inches deep at low tide. All the kiddos really enjoyed finding hermit crabs and shells.

These two cracked me up the entire trip.

We spent a lot of time sitting on the back porch. It was very peaceful. Note the splint on my mom's leg and my dad sitting in her swoopy 4-wheeled walker.
A photo from the sandbar.
A fish with little spiny things on his back. Nature's way of screaming "don't touch!".
More exploring and photo ops on the sandbar.

The view from the back porch.
This trip marked the first time I have ever seen a double red flag. The one on the bottom has a picture of a person swimming with a line through it. What do you think that means? Apparently, in this case, it means sharks.

We woke up early the last morning to pack and found it very foggy and surreal looking on the beach.
This was a really fascinating roly-poly!
The whole gang. Except for dad who was taking the picture.
We visited Grandmother and Grandaddy on the way home and Sadie got to swim in the pool. It was nice and relaxing for her after a busy week.
My favorite moments from this trip:
- Parasailing with the one-legged pirate.
- Running around the sandbar at dusk.
- Spending a lazy afternoon with my two youngest nieces.
- A cloudy afternoon at a desolate water park.
- Eating a nice big juicy pizza outside an Italian restaurant with my hubby, while listening to some really bad live lounge singers, and laughing hysterically.
- Chilling out on the back porch with my awesome family.

This sounds absolutely heavenly and I loved seeing all the pics of your beautiful family. I miss the southern beach. Lately all we go to is the California coast which is beautiful but the water is so cold! Can't wait to head south to the TX beach on Thursday. I hope your summer continues to be happy.
