The First Post!

Hello, friends and family! So, I guess I'm going to try this family blog thing. Thank you to Tera for the wonderful idea. Please bear with me as I try to figure out how all of this works...I feign computer literacy, but I will inevitably be found out. I will try to keep the blog stocked with photos and video clips, but first I will have to figure out how!

Today is Leap Day, which had me thinking that I should make it count and make some goals for myself. For one, I am declaring March "Me" month. I thought it appropriate since it is my birth month and I'll be turning double threes. (I know there's really no significance there, but it just sounds cool.) I am going to focus on myself for an entire month. By that I mean finally getting the facial that Chris bought for me, getting my hair done, you know, all the vain stuff. But also, I'm going to make those obscure doctors appointments that I think about but always forget to follow through with and get myself organized. (!) Part of that is to keep this blog going and post all of the photos that I keep forgetting to send to people. Now you'll just have to come here to see them! There are so many things that I am going to do this month. I even made a list, because if you know me, you know that I am only able to function sanely with lists. Enough about me.

Here's what we've been doing since (and during) the holidays:

We had family photos taken at Thanksgiving. They really turned out awesome. I think it needs to be an annual tradition.

Christmas was exciting but a little bittersweet as this was the last year Sadie "believed" in Santa. We suspected she was just milking it this year and it became apparent afterwards that she really was. Anyway, rollerblades and Lego kits were the hot items this year. She had a great time. (so did we)

We "rocked" in the new year with dear friends.

(You're welcome, Tara)

Chris spent a week in California for his annual sales meeting. The location was gorgeous. I am only judging from pictures because I am never invited on these swanky trips.

I don't know who any of these people are. Except Chris. Second from the left.

While Chris was gone, we had our first real snow in 7 years. I have an awesome video of me sledding down a hill and slamming into the ground at the bottom, but I can't find the A/V cable for the video camero right now. That vexes me. Anyway, it was great to see snow again.

Chris had the amazing opportunity to attend the grand opening gala for the Davidson Center for Space Exploration which houses the Saturn V rocket at the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville. He also had the opportunity to geek out over getting Buzz Aldrin's autograph.

I love these two kids. This is our sweet Lola. Nothing exciting happened for her. She's just cute.
So, there's the first post. I made it through while only screaming at the computer twice. Because, of course it was the computer's fault that I deleted pictures that I had just uploaded. I hope you'll check back often to see what this crazy trio is up to. We'll be waiting for you.
